TRI-CITIES-- Just when you thought mosquito season was coming to an end, more cases of West Nile are popping up in Washington.

According to the Department of Health, five more infected dead birds were found in Benton County. Two more Benton County horses also tested positive.

So far, three humans have come down with the virus in Washington this year. All of them spent time in eastern Washington or eastern Oregon.

Mosquitoes stay active until the first freeze, so make sure to cover up and get rid of standing water.
