ELLENSBURG -- All of the rodeo action came as a welcome boost to the local economy in Ellensburg.
Hotels and restaurants usually do a lot of their annual business at this time.
But businesses felt the slowing economy this year.

Rick Williams owns Campus U-Tote-Em Restaurant. He tells Action News, “Saturday was a little up. We had a big rush after the parade here. The nights have been down a little bit because of the cold weather I think. And attendance is down a little bit.”

The rodeo's income had been steadily rising year by year, but this year, they expect to fall short $3,000.
