MORROW COUNTY, Ore. -- A man fleeing police drove off an embankment and died early Thursday morning along Highway 207.
Oregon State Patrol said Byron Scott Kincade, 37, of Ephrata, Washington, stole the car from a truck stop shortly after 4 a.m. while the driver was inside delivering newspapers.
Police spotted the vehicle less than an hour later. Officers said they tried to stop the suspect but he fled southbound on Highway 207.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve and the car flipped several times down an embankment, according to OSP.
Kincade was ejected fro the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
