YAKIMA, Wash. -- Federal money to clean up N. 1st Street will be delayed. Yakima expected to get almost $3 million for the first phase of the project next year.

The city now says it won't see the money until the following year. City Council will look at other funding strategies next week. It could use the city's reserves or put up a bond.

Yakima's city manager acknowledged the delay could be longer. But, said the city has enough money on hand to keep the project on track.
