'We're not satisfied:' Investigation into Union Gap murder continues

UNION GAP, Wash. -- John Munzanreder was officially charged Thursday with the murder of his wife outside the Majestic theater. Prosecutors charged Munzanreder with first degree murder, domestic violence.

His alleged accomplice and co-worker Juan Ibanez Cortes was also charged with first degree murder and for having a gun as an illegal immigrant.

Police say John Munzanreder devised the plan.

Action News spoke to Union Gap's interim police chief who said the murder investigation won't be over for weeks.

"You have two arrests, two people you say were involved. Is that enough? Why is the case still ongoing?" KIMA asked.

"Because we're not satisfied that we have all the information that we need so we continue to investigate," said Greg Cobb, Union Gap interim police chief.

Both suspects will be back in court in two weeks.
