Dog traps to be placed around Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The City of Yakima is working harder to control stray dogs from running around free in town.
Animal control officers are now setting up traps in the neighborhoods most affected. They'll also be doing sweeps several times a week in those areas.
The captured dogs will be brought to the Humane Society to be adopted after an evaluation.
"Obviously there's a tremendous amount of stray dogs around and a lot of them would make real good friends for people and their family," said Ryan Kinocheloe.
We also learned Yakima will be more proactive in checking that you have a dog license. If you haven't renewed by the end of next month, you'll be forced to pay full price.

Thats great news IF the dogs are NOT euthanized ...This town is one of the worst for animal neglect & abuse ..almost as bad as south of the border !! Now lets have more strict penalaties for the humans guilty of letting their dogs roam & better funding for officers to enforce them. There are so many people that just dont deserve the love of an animal !!
