Bomb threats force courthouse evacuations in Umatilla County

UMATILLA COUNTY, Wash. -- Two bomb threats cleared courthouses throughout Umatilla County midday Wednesday.

The Sheriff told KEPR the threat came via phone but didn't specify a location -- forcing evacuations in both Hermiston and Pendleton.

A second threat was made but sweeps of the building hadn't yet finished. No additional time was wasted.

The Sheriff's office is tracing the calls.

You may remember last month 28 courthouses received bomb threats across Oregon -- as well as nearly 50 more in four other states.

It's not yet clear if these incidents are connected.
