Two bridges in Yakima County, Ellensburg to be replaced
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Federal funds will pay for the replacement of two Central Washington bridges.
In Yakima County, the Pioneer Way bridge will be replaced at Cowiche Creek. That project was awarded $756,800.
Ellensburg was awarded half a million dollars to replace the D Street bridge.
Washington state will receive a portion of the $130 million federal dollars slated for bridge repairs across the country.
WSDOT selected a total of 70 aging bridges to receive repairs or replacements.
The Bridge Replacement Advisory Committee and WSDOT reviewed 87 applications in all.
