Police: Toddler found father's gun in truck, accidentally shot himself

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. --The 3-year-old Sunnyside boy who suffered a gun shot wound to the face Monday is still in critical condition in a Seattle hospital.
It appears he found his father's hand gun inside the truck and accidentally shot himself, police said.
They said the boy’s father then rushed him to Sunnyside Community Hospital.
Police said the father has a valid concealed weapons permit and is cooperating with investigators.
Detectives are still investigating what happened and have contacted the Washington State Crime Lab to help process the vehicle.
Child Protective Services has been notified. The case will be forwarded to prosecutors who will determine whether any charges will be filed.
Police said there are no gang ties to this case.
With a concealed permit or not the gun should NOT have been loaded and no safety on. This is negligence and his weapons rights should be taken away. They should charge him as if he were the one that shot his child. No gun should ever be in reach of a child.
The father needs to be charged! Just like the Officer in Marysville, WA last year that cost a life of a child as well.
