Wapato man dead after hitting power pole
Troopers say the accident took place early Tuesday morning, seven miles southwest of Toppenish.
Troopers say the driver, 33-year-old Sidney Jay Hunt, was going southbound on South Wapato Road, crossing Marion Drain Road.
He then lost control of his vehicle and hit a power pole. Hunt's car rolled and he was ejected. He died at the scene.
The only other passenger, 28-year-old Rochelle Jessica Barney, is being treated at a local hospital.
Her condition is not known, and it is also not known if drugs or alcohol were involved.
