Arson suspected in Yakima fire

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Investigators suspect arson after a house caught fire this afternoon. One person was taken to the hospital.

A call to 911 said a man had a knife at Seventh Avenue and Pine.

Officers saw the man run into a home and break a window. Then, they saw flames.

The man suffers from a mental illness and was taken to a local hospital.

One neighbor said she helped put out the fire.

"Well I was coming home from the store, saw the fire and the kid was trying to put it out, so I pulled up grabbed the hose and put the fire out," neighbor Sally Pryor said. "But they told me he had a knife."

A garage sustained minor damage.

There are no charges filed at this point. It's still under investigation.
