Taggers hit Yakima's Kiwanis Park

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Kiwanis Park is yet to have its grand opening, but taggers have already hit the area hard.
The skate park area seems to be hardest hit. Dumpsters and outbuildings are covered too. Vandals even threw rolls of toilet paper into the trees.
Some people told Action News little to no lighting in the park at night is the problem.
Police do regularly patrol the area, but taggers are hard to catch.
Parks and recreation staff say they usually clean graffiti daily, but it seems to always return.
This is what Yakima wants, catch and release since there is no jail space for anyone. It's probably more accurate to call it, release and release, since there isn't even room to book a person in. Thank you Yakima for voting down common sense and the 1/10th of a penny tax. Nice job.
