Police: Man shot in Home Depot parking lot during drug bust
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A man is hospitalized and another is in custody after a drug bust at the Home Depot parking lot in Yakima.

Nine law enforcement officers were involved in the bust. It happened shortly after 1:00 Thursday afternoon just off of S. 1st Street.

Police say an officer opened fire after one of the suspects tried to run over a cop with his car while trying to escape.

"It's a very complex scene involving the number of vehicles that were rammed into as the suspect was leaving the area. We're still getting set up here," said Yakima Police Spokesperson Rod Light. "It's going to be a lengthy investigation."

That suspect is being treated at a local hospital for more than one gunshot.

Sources say he was hit in the face.

There's no word on his condition.

It's not clear if the officer who shot the suspect was from Yakima Police, the D.E.A. or another agency.
