Dog Attack Victim Still in Hospital Two Weeks Later

SEATTLE -- A Wapato man who lost his leg in a vicious dog attack two weeks ago is still in a Seattle hospital recovering from his injuries.

Nurses said Lew Yallup is in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center. He initially was taken into the intensive care unit.

Yallup lost his leg when a pack of dogs attacked him as he picked up cans on Campbell Road in Wapato.

Ruben Deanda, the dogs' owner, could go to jail for 4 years for his the attack on Yallup and pay up to $20,000.

His next court appearance is next month.
