Car with four Yakima teens hits tree and catches fire
NACHES -- Icy conditions on Highway 12 caused an accident east of Rimrock Monday morning.
Investigators say a car hit a patch of black ice then slammed into a tree and caught fire. There were no serious injuries. The passengers described it was one of the most frightening experiences they've had.
"Getting out, it just doesn't feel real," says one survivor. "It's like a dream or a nightmare."
"When my friend Sabrina's door wouldn't open and we had to pull her out the other side, I was terrified," said another survivor.
Emergency crews say it's an example that even experienced winter drivers can't get too confident behind the wheel.
