WAPATO -- A group from Wapato schools will head to Olympia to try to get more school funding.

School supporters will meet with lawmakers from the 15th district as well as key committee leaders. They will push the importance of the levy equalization as well as all-day kindergarten. Wapato's Superintendent knows there will be cuts. She just wants them to be fair to every district.

"If we're cut in a way that is disproportionate to what other districts can offer that impacts the children of this community, where as it might not impact the children in another community." said superintendent Becky Imler.

Imler supports cutting the school year to avoid cutting the quality of education.
