Medical Marijuana Clinic proves pot is hot in Yakima
YAKIMA - A medical marijuana clinic held Saturday in Yakima aimed to get sick people medical pot recommendations.

More than a dozen people visited the clinic, paying $100 to get a recommendation.

Patients had to meet several requirements, including meeting with a doctor, who judged if they really did need medical marijuana.

Organizers of the clinic say it's a way to offer help to many people who don't want the harmful effects of prescription drugs.

"It certainly does not create side-effects like a number of the pharmaceutical agents. They're using pain management," said Dr. Allen Johnson, a naturopathic doctor from Ellensburg. "But again I wouldn't say that marijuana solves everybody's problem... It is a great tool."

It's important to note that no marijuana was sold.

The event was simply a starting point for people to receive medical marijuana.
