Toppenish making sidewalks easier for people in wheelchairs
TOPPENISH -- KIMA has continuing coverage of the massive road work going on along Highway 22 in Toppenish.
That road-widening project will be completely finished next year, but most work will finish in about three weeks. Another part of the project has been to make downtown curbs more wheelchair-accessible.
"(People in wheelchairs) have a major problem getting around," says one local man. "So, it's better for them to get back and forth and have easier access."
Again, the project will be completed in about three weeks. However, a final layer of new pavement will be laid in the spring.
