Yakima's Improved Drug Force
YAKIMA -- KIMA has discovered a valuable law enforcement relationship that went sour several years ago has been rebuilt.
Yakima Police and the DEA are working together again. Their partnership will bring federal resources as well as money into Yakima's fight against drugs and drug trafficking.
"Putting drug traffickers in prison, that's the goal and getting the drugs off the street,” said Sgt. Rod Light.
The partnership between the feds and Yakima police fell apart in 2008 over the management practices of former police Chief Sam Granato.
