Central Washington University Receives 10 Million Dollar Grant
ELLENSBURG -- KIMA learned a huge chunk of money is headed to CWU. The university will receive part of a 10 million dollar grant to help support the Geo-sciences.

The money will bring better hands-on experiences and equipment to the school, as well as a more valued degree.

CWU says nearly every major will eventually benefit, and the bigger picture is what's most important.

"We're hoping to really inform a much larger number of students about the earth and about the role that Geo-sciences play in understanding some of the challenges were facing today, like climate change and finding a better energy source," says Anne Egger.

The grant money is being shared with prestigious universities like Stanford and Penn State. The benefits will be available by the end of the year.
