TERRACE HEIGHTS -- In just over a years time, graffiti in Terrace Heights has dropped about 70%.
There's still a problem spot on Butterfield Road. The old Walker Boat building is constantly tagged. We learned the "paint over" technique is not working there.
Neighbors are relieved to know the block watch team is working with the Sheriff's office to tackle the problem.
"I see them at least a couple times a week, and they are going very slow and really responsive," says Lou Larson. "But, I know they are working really hard in Terrace Heights, and that is good!"
The Yakima Sheriff's Office expects to see a continued drop in graffiti, and hopes the block watch will spread to areas nearby.
