Teen Killed in Gang Shooting

YAKIMA CO. SHERIFF'S NEWS RELEASE: On 4-28-11 at 9:34 p.m. 911 received telephone information regarding a shooting that had just occurred at 10 1st Ave in Outlook, an unincorporated community which is just west of Sunnyside, WA. Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputies and officers from the Sunnyside Police Department responded.

Investigation revealed the occupants of the mobile home at #10 heard noise from a car pulling into their driveway. Looking outside, the adult female resident saw four people get out of a car and walk toward the mobile home. Hoping to scare them off she broke out the east bedroom window. Instead, the subjects went to the front of the home and started knocking on the front door. The 17 year old female daughter who also lives there and was inside, opened the front door and was shot once in the side with a small caliber firearm. She was transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital and was said to be in critical condition.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. the victim was in the process of being transported to Harborview Hospital in Seattle, but she died on the way.

The only suspect information is 4 people wearing blue clothing and blue bandannas over their faces.

All indication is this is a gang related incident as have been previous incidents at this location.
