Heated Battle Over Prosser Bond
PROSSER -- Next week people in Prosser will find out if the school district is building a new high school.
If you take a drive around town you'll quickly see signs for and against the issue, which is rare for a school bond.
Folks we talked to Thursday say there's more signs out for this issue than any candidate up for election in the past.
"I work in the wine industry so it's been kind of difficult to explain to people from out of town. You know people are conservative here so any tax increase is going to be heavily debated," said Rachel Mercer.
"This has dragged on for so long. Ready to be over? Oh yeah," said Bob Yahn.
You'll remember this issue was just barely defeated in February when it didn't get a supermajority.
Action News is tracking election returns for Prosser, and found just about half of registered voters already turned in their ballots. So, there could be a very high turnout.
