New healthcare clinic for city employees

New healthcare clinic for city employees
YAKIMA, Wash.-- A new healthcare clinic for city employees will open next month in Yakima. Services will be free to employees, their spouses and dependents. Yakima retirees also get the benefits as long as they have the city's insurance. The clinic will save all city taxpayers money. Yakima wants the clinic to be the first step to more no-cost clinics for the general public.

"We're in hopes that people will be able to see our model, see how we were able to save money, and then other clinics go up," said Cheryl Ann Mattia.

The mi-care clinic will serve more than two-thousand people in Yakima.
