Yakima promises to fix 12 worst streets by summer

YAKIMA, Wash. -- From bumps to pot holes, Yakima's roads get plenty of complaints. Until now Yakima has answered those complaints saying there is simply no money to fix them.

Now Yakima put together a list of the top twelve streets in need of the most TLC and promises to fix them by summer.

The money is coming from a $5 million bond and a streets and traffic position eliminated in the 2013 budget.

People KIMA talked with said the repairs are much needed.

"Lots of ruts and bumps and occasional pot holes," said Scott Lee who is unhappy with the roads. "It's a real trial to get through that stretch."

Yakima put together a separate list of additional projects. But that will only get completed if voters pass the 30-dollar car tab fee.
