Deputies release name of man found dead in Toppenish
UPDATE: Deputies identified the victim as Pedro Marquez-Villa, 20. Officials told KIMA he most recently lived in Whatcom County. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

TOPPENISH, Wash. -- A man's body was found Saturday by Toppenish Police. According to a news release issued by the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, the man was found with an injury to the head by Toppenish Police after being advised of a deceased person in the 900 block of Washington Street in Toppenish.

The investigation was handed over to the Yakima Sheriff's Office because the victim was located on county property, just north of the property line of city limits.

The victim has not yet been identified. He is a hispanic male in his 20s or early 30s. He was wearing gray sweatpants and a black jersey with a "Los Angeles" logo.

Deputies say it appears the body had been there since sometime during the night. Neighbors hadn't noticed it during the day at all.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
