Tieton man gets 28 years for killing girlfriend

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Tieton man was sentenced to 28 years in prison for killing his girlfriend three years ago.

Adam Powell was found guilty of 2nd degree murder last week.

Weapons and domestic violence charges added to the sentence.

It took the jury three hours to convict him.

He originally told police his girlfriend killed herself.
