Surveillance video helps deputies arrest burglary suspect

KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S RELEASE -- Deputies in the Pro-Act unit of the Sheriff's Office arrested Dennis Higginbotham, age 58 on Wednesday in the Cle Elum area.

It was on suspicion of multiple counts of burglary. Higginbotham was identified as a suspect in numerous burglaries of storage units in the East Cle Elum area.

He was captured on electronic surveillance equipment deployed by the Pro-Act unit.

Higginbotham was also identified as a suspect in the burglary of a cabin by video cameras installed by the homeowners after previous break-ins.

A search warrant on Higginbotham's vehicle and the RV where he resides revealed numerous burglary tools and burglary equipment used in the break-in at both the cabin and the storage units, along with suspected stolen property.

The Pro-Act unit will continue working to identify the owners of the recovered property so it can be returned.
