WHITE PASS-- Skiers are for the first time this fall taking to the slopes of the ski area at White Pass, with opening day also expected for other ski areas in the coming week.

Silver Mountain in Idaho is also open for skiers after some steady snowfall in the past 48 hours.

Crystal Mountain is already open, as is the ski area at Stevens Pass.

Ski Bluewood in the Blue Mountains is still waiting for enough of a base to open its lifts, as is the Summit as Snoqualmie ski area.
