YAKIMA, Wash. -- Unless you've been in hiding all day, you've probably seen a large dose of candy and flowers floating around. This day set aside for romance also brings out some creative outlets.

In a house off Ahtanum Road there are no red roses; no boxes of chocolates. Instead, a group of retirees up before the sun and on a mission.

They use their voices to deliver Valentines. The group is called My Three Sons: Dad Bill senior and sons Michael, Kelly and Bill Jr.

A quick warm-up before a long day ahead.

The first stop was Union Gap School. First a song for the front office and then the kids. Even the crossing guard gets a serenade.

Then it was back in the car and on to two different doctor's offices. Those visits are more of a thank you.

"[I] had 39 treatments here at North Star and since I've been cancer-free," said Quartet Singer Bill McCay Sr.

The next stop was Wray's Pharmacy where the group delivered their next song. A woman surprised by her husband with a love song that made her cry.

The love stories don't stop there. Within the quartet, there's a love story dating back to the 1940's.

"We were married in 1940 she was just almost 17," Bill Sr. said.

Bill's very own life-long love. She always gets a song if he can finish the tune.

"It's fun," Bill Sr. said. "Sometimes I can't hardly get through it."

But he did. Bill's Valentine is among a crowd of nurses, patients and visitors at Memorial Hospital. Veda McCay serenaded by her husband of 63 years.

"It's a special time of year," said Veda McCay, Bill's wife. "There's a lot of love between us."

A day Veda, Bill Sr. and their three sons look forward to every year.

The quartet will be at it again next year and all proceeds go to the Valley Sun Chorus.
