YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 31-year-old man was seriously hurt after he was shot around 4:45 Thursday afternoon in the Safeway parking lot on 5th Avenue.

Police said the incident started as an argument about a cell phone.

The suspect drew a handgun during the conversation and shot the victim twice, according to police.

An armed witness reportedly intervened demanding the suspect drop his gun.

Police are now searching for the suspect. They are looking for a man in his early to mid 20s possibly from the Lower Valley.
