UNION GAP, Wash. -- Cabela's announced they will open a "next-generation" store in Union Gap.
The company says the "Outpost" store will be the first of its kind at a smaller size of approximately 40,000 square feet.
Cabela's officials said the company will use a new strategy that they hope will effectively serve smaller markets, the company said in an SEC filing. They plan to use the success of a smaller store in Springfield, Oregon as a model for the Union Gap location.
The store is expected to open sometime this fall.
The company reported 25 percent growth in the fourth quarter and plans to open four other next-generation stores in 2012.
