TRI-CITIES -- Sarah Palin is here for the holiday weekend. Action News was there as her private plane touched down in Pasco on Wednesday night.

Family and friends were there at the Bergstrom Aircraft terminal. And Palin took time to talk with Action News.

Reporter Molly Kelleher asked Palin, "If you ever campaigned again, would she you come back to the Tri-Cities?"

"Absolutely, I don't know why politicians ignore these relatively small towns. It frustrates me that high-level politicians seem to forget about these people," Palin said.

Palin is now off with family, but she's still going to be busy over the holiday here in the Tri-Cities.

This Thanksgiving weekend, the Richland Hastings bookstore is thankful for Sarah Palin.

The store manager said more people have been coming to the store and her book is flying off the shelves.

On Wednesday, the store got their last shipment of Palin's new book "Going Rouge" before the book signing Sunday.

But if you bought it somewhere else, sorry, a Hastings reciept is your only ticket to the signing.

But there is one more opportunity for a Palin sighting.

Palin tweeted Wednesday that she will run in the Red Cross charity 5K race in Columbia Park before Thanksgiving dinner.

Sarah Palin will be running under the name "Team Alaska" with 25 other family members and friends.

And then it's on to a family dinner with relatives in Richland.

Palin's Aunt Katie Johnson lives here, that's her mother's sister.

Sarah Palin's family ties in the Tri-Cities stretch back generations.

Palin's mom's family grew up in Richland. Sarah's aunts and uncles, and her mom sally, graduated from Columbia High, which is now Richland High.

Sarah Palin was born in idaho, where her dad's from, but raised in Alaska.

Now it's back to her roots and back to our little corner of Washington state. This time with a book and media frenzy to follow.
