Heated Council Meeting

KITTITAS -- It was a heated council meeting in Kittitas, where the attacks got personal.

One of the council members resigned a few weeks ago, so the council had to appoint someone else to fill the spot. It got heated because some council members were afraid the mayor would appoint his own wife, and believed that would be a conflict of interest.

Linda Huber served on the council and as a county commissioner before. In the end it was a two-two council vote between her and Rick Hink; the former fire chief and Public School Employee's Union leader. The mayor abstained.

The position will remain open until someone is elected to the post from the November ballot.
