By Melissa Wagner

It's the middle of summer, and the kids are already bored. So what can you do? Take them to Selah to check out the Wenas Creek Mammoth project. The Central Washington University crew just opened the site to visitors. You can tour the area and watch students unveil Mammoth bones from the Ice Age. You can also learn more about archeology, paleontology and geography. Director, Pat Lubinski said, " It's a place where a mammoth and probably a bison died some time about 16,000 years ago and their bones are scattered on this hill." It's so much fun the kids will never know they're learning!
