'Time To Move Forward'

Yakima -- It was the hot topic at the beginning of the month but the paramedic program being pushed by the Yakima Fire Department has cooled off.

Mayor Dave Edler says it's time to move forward with the paramedic vote and city councilwoman Sonia Rodriguez agrees. "We are obligated to be providing the people of Yakima the very best services necessary. If we have a license and two paramedics it doesn't make sense, why they shouldn't be able to use those skills," she tells Action News.

The city pushed the vote back after Maureen Adkison took over Neil McClure's position. The mayor tells us he's hoping to have a vote at the June 2nd council meeting.
