Stolen School Equipment Covered By Insurance
By Audrey Asistio
YAKIMA COUNTY -- Action News is still following up on the missing equipment at local schools. Granger School District gave us a call after we told you about $16,000 worth of equipment that vanished from their schools. They claim most of those things worth your taxpayer dollars did not just go astray. They have insurance. Granger School District's business manager, Jill Ihly explained, "We contacted the authorities right away and the money was given back to us through insurance to buy those products they purchased originally."
But that only covers stolen items. Sunnyside and Wapato School Districts say they have the same insurance coverage, too. They add that since those thefts happened, they have also added security to their schools. |
