It's Plan B For The Rodeo

Toppenish -- It was a July 4th tradition but the Toppenish Rodeo isn't going to be happening for a second year in a row.

The Rodeo Association tells Action News they don't have the money to put on the four day event. They're working with the Toppenish Chamber of Commerce trying to get an outside promoter to do a similar event. "Last year was the first year since the turn of the century pretty much that we haven't had a rodeo and it's part of our identity," says Susan Treneer, Toppenish Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber should know next week whether the promoters have enough cash for the rodeo. They've been asking locals to buy ads to sponsor the event.
