By Heather Reese

The Selah School District sent a press release late Wednesday afternoon, announcing that Superintendent Debra Howard intends to resign at the end of this school year. The release says the resignation is mutual between Howard and the district.

Howard's comments to Selah High Principal Joe Jones set off protests, when she said she didn't see him coming back next year. After weeks of dispute, it was decided that Jones will be back.

Howard will still get a year's worth of pay, as per her contract.
