Full details of the complaint have not been released. But Action News spoke with local attorney William Pickett. He disclosed he is representing Y.P.D. officer Stacey Andrews and her husband Mark, who is also a Y.P.D. cop.

Pickett says: "At this point we have not filed a claim for damages but there's a matter that is currently under review regarding the Andrews, and that's the extent of it."

Granato hired a Seattle attorney to represent him. Robert Christie maintains Granato did nothing wrong. In a published report he says Granato may sue Stacey Andrews for slander.

Yakima City Manager Dick Zais didn't want to go on camera saying he couldn't comment on a matter under investigation. But in a past conversation with Zais he told Action News that lawsuits against police chiefs are common in many cities

So far only one complaint against the city involving Granato was settled in the plaintiff's favor. Civilian employee Crystal Dodge won 200 thousand dollars after she claimed another officer mocked her speech impediment and that Granato hadn't done enough to punish the officer.

Since Granato's arrival the number of personnel-related claims against him and the City of Yakima now number as many as eight.
