Local Church Feeds Those in Need
By Heather Reese
The folks at New Hope Community Church, with the help of other local churches, have fed more than 2500 people in the two months they've been operating. Every Friday from 4:00 to 6:00, they put out a main dish, salad, and dessert.
For many people, it could be the only real meal they get all week. "The saddest thing is when people are in line, and they're eating off their plate with their hands because they haven't eaten in three or four days," says Sandy Graves, a New Hope volunteer. New Hope was planning to run the program through the end of December, but its become so important to people, they've decided to keep it going. If you'd like to donate, send money to New Hope Community Church. |
