"Opt" Out of the Army?

The next time you sign a piece of paper your high school student brings home, take a closer look.

Under the No Child Left Behind Act, military recruiters can access your teenager's information. Antiwar activists are trying to get the word out, but their efforts might be in vain.

"Obviously if kids are going to join, they're going to join. they know we're here, what we're trying to do here in the schools is keep them abreast of the changing items we do have," says Sgt. Wesley Hastings.

The army recruited about 23 seniors from the valley last year. Parents have until October 1st to sign the opt-out form.
