Mini Hydros Hitting Granger
By Sade Malloy
Yakima -- You saw the hydros make a splash in the the Tri-Cities a few weeks ago now it's time for the miniature versions.
It's all part of the Oh Boy Oberto Championship Series. The boats are an eighth of the size of their Columbia Cup big brothers. Saturday was practice day for a couple of the teams. Fred Stock, Winston Eagle Lobster Boat says, "Since the water cools the engine it can have an impact but the larger impact is the humidity and the heat of the atmosphere, air. The hotter it is the more lean you make your needle." Twenty boats will be in the competition Sunday. The winner takes home a trophy but more importantly bragging rights. |
