YAKIMA -- Bus riders may need to pack an extra quarter for a bus trip in the future.

Yakima City Council will vote on a 25-cent hike for normal fares tonight.

Frequent transit users knew it was just a matter of time they would need to pay more. Michael Mousseau comments, "It's been coming. I mean, day and age right now, you've gotta figure everyone's gotta contribute somehow."

Yakima transit has not raised prices since 1994. Gas was only a little over $1.00 a gallon back then.
