Woman's Body Found In Sunnyside Canal

SUNNYSIDE -- The body was found in a canal off Emerald Road.

Deputies tell us the the woman was shot.

They don't know who she is.

Cops say the woman was Hispanic between 18-25 years old.

She was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jean shorts, a silver watch, three rings on her right hand, and large hoop ear rings.

Action News talked with the woman who made the gruesome discovery.

Margarita Carrito says she was walking along the canal with her family when she spotted the body.

"Go to the channel, and the water, and yeah, look the one female, and down, the face is down, yeah, and my brother say, oh no, and call the 911," Carrito said.

YSO wants to hear from you if you know anything about this.

Yakima County Coroner tells us, there will be an autopsy on Monday.
