Yakima Airport control tower closure delayed
Show Caption
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Plans to shut down the air traffic control tower at the Yakima Airport are on hold.

The FAA announced it has postponed closing 149 towers across the country.

The first towers were scheduled to shut down on Sunday.

An airport official tells Action News the agency has some last minute issues to manage first.

Yakima's tower would now close mid-June at the earliest.
