Still No Agreement on Former Fire Chief's Severance Package
By Maria Medina
EAST VALLEY -- East valley fire district commissioners offered the former chief a severance package Wednesday and gave him until next Monday to accept it.
The two parties were supposed to agree on a package last week, but have been negotiating the details since then. Gay resigned two weeks ago after commissioners put him on paid-leave in March. Gay was accused of creating a hostile work environment by a pair of his employees. If the chief chooses to sign the severance package, he'd agree not to sue the district. |
