GRANGER -- "I have no confidence in her anymore," Granger Resident, Maria Gonzalez said.

Some people in town aren't happy with Mayor Pro Tem, Donna Shipman.

"We want what's best for the community and we feel that she's not doing her job," Gonzalez added.

This week, Maria Gonzalez asked Shipman to step down from her position on City Council.

Gonzalez and others claim Shipman broke the law when she scheduled a public meeting, but didn't tell the public.

A meeting the Mayor already cancelled.

People we spoke with claim, when they heard about the rescheduled meeting, they went to the chambers only to find out the meeting was cancelled, again.

"Cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled again, ridiculous," Granger Resident, Petra Esqueda, said.

According to those who want her out, Shipman's explanation was that the Mayor didn't cancel the meeting in the proper way and Shipman claims she did nothing wrong by going ahead with the meeting.

Esqueda added, "If you knew that the Mayor had not done it correctly in the first place, why didn't you tell her?"

"You guys are the bosses to that Council, it's not the other way around," LULAC Rep, Maria Rodriguez-Salazar, explained to the group.

So now, people want to recall Donna Shipman and they're asking for advice from LULAC.

"Maybe they have something to hide, because if they didn't have anything to hide, they wouldn't be doing that," Gonzalez said.

LULAC members and the group with the gripe will meet with the Mayor next week.
