YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima's Gang-Free Initiative continues to move forward.

Steve Magallan Consultancy will work with the initiative to coordinate the services.

The city contracted Magallan's firm to help create partnerships and implement ideas included in the action plan.

It will also make sure resources are being used efficiently to fight gangs.

Magallan hired a project manager to help with the work, and is already busy organizing a networking event.

"What we really need to do is identify these service providers in all three areas, suppression, prevention, intervention, that would be interested in partnering with the city's GFI project," said Steve Magallan."

That event will be held later this summer.
