YAKIMA, Wash. -- Police arrested a suspected car thief they say was caught red-handed with the help of a Yakima man.

A West Yakima family noticed its car missing Saturday morning.

While police were being called, family members decided to go out and look for the missing Subaru themselves.

One family member saw the missing car at a stop light and chased it down with two people still inside.

Police say the two abandoned the car and took off, but they made one arrest.

We spoke to the victim's uncle who followed the car.

"I was very surprised and to come back and tell him I actually did find his car after he called me and said hey my car's gone, good feeling," said Rob Wilske.

Investigators say the other car thief is still out there.
